How do I schedule a lesson?

What is your cancellation policy for lessons?

All lessons need to be cancelled no later than 9 a.m. the day of the lessons by phone or email or you will be charged the full price. If cancelled before 9 a.m. a makeup time will must be set up within 2 weeks of the missed lesson or the lesson is forfeited.  Only 1 make up per 60 days and no makeup lessons under 30 days. If a make-up lesson is set and you cancel that lesson no other makeup lessons will be scheduled; the lesson is forfeited.  Call or text Vicki’s at (507) 421-2575.

How do I pay for my lesson?-

Payment is due at the end of the month for the next month’s lessons (e.g. if riding in May payment is due by the last day of April).  There will be a late fee added of $50.00 if payment is not received.

Do I need a riding helmet before I come to my riding lesson?

Yes, ATSM certified helmets are required. They can be purchased at the Saddlery on the farm. There is $5 per lesson helmet rental fee if you’re not able to obtain your own.

Do I need to have riding boots or special clothing before my riding lesson?

Yes, riders can wear long pants and must have boots with 1 inch heels when starting for the first month.  If you sign on as a weekly student paddock boots and breeches are recommended for English riding, Western riders my wear long jeans and will need a pair of boots.  For summer riding NO tank tops are an allowed, must wear tight fitting t-shirt or polo shirt.  This makes it so Vicki can see the poster of the rider. 

The Saddlery on the farm has everything a rider will need to buy.

Is there anything else I need to wear for my riding lessons?

Please come in jeans, leggings or riding pants. Shorts are NOT allowed. Please come dressed to accommodate the weather.

What happens if my instructor needs to cancel a lesson?

If Vicki cancels a lesson that lesson will be made up. 

Vicki takes a 1 week Vacation 1 x a year, lessons are NOT made up during this time, lesson’s are paid for during that week.  Also there are NO lessons on major holidays and these lessons are NOT made up.

Can parents watch the lessons?

Yes, we encourage the parents to even learn how to groom and tack up the horses, you are welcome to watch the lessons from the side lines, viewing room or sitting in the sun outside if the weather is wonderful.  Small children are required to be quiet while the lesson is going on, we have a swing set area where the can play away from the riding arena.  NO dogs are allowed on the farm.

When I want to stop taking lessons?

A 30 day written notice at the beginning of the month MUST be given.
