Rochester Minnesota Equestrian Center
Vicki Holst, owner and instructor of Turn Crest Stable, has owned a
stable in Kasson for 20 years. Before that she taught in Eau Claire,
Wisconsin as well as Mayowood in Rochester. Vicki is a graduate of
Pacific Horse Center of California and she is a Double Certified
Instructor.
Vicki's riding career started with a little red pony that she rode
up and down the roads and has come full circle to the instructor she
is today. Starting with the hunter circuit and then moving on to the
jumpers and doing western pleasure as well as horsemanship along the
way is what makes her the all around instructor
of today. Vicki has riders who are winning in the local shows as
well as breed shows all over the United States. The student who's
who list has included riders that have gone on to win national
honors in the Hunter/Jumper world, POA and Appaloosa shows. She also
has national breed year-end high point winners, ROM's, and
Championship winners that she has instructed.

The move back from Eau Claire to Rochester started the task of
turning an old farm into a riding stable 20 years ago. There was the
building of a 60x150 indoor arena, an outdoor arena, 30 stalls, wash
rack, and heated viewing room in the indoor arena. There are other
improvements to come so stay tuned. Vicki's goal has always been to
inspire riders to learn as much as they can. This is why when
students come out to ride they are taught not only how to ride the
horse but also how to groom and tack up the horse they are going to
ride. Vicki says, "I always wanted riders to know the basics so that
if they go and ride somewhere else they will know what they are
doing." Vicki has worked with Quarter Horses, Paints, Arabians,
Saddlebreds, and of course Appaloosas. Vicki gives the biggest
credit of her teaching to her wonderful equine instructors. These 12
school horses have helped teach riders from the age of 5 through the
age of 50+ to learn how to ride. "Without these great horses my
program would not be what it is today!"
